The latest episode of I’m a Celebrity 2023 saw Grace Dent leaving the show midway, and fans are inquisitive about why she had to quit. Here’s all you need to know about her exit and her potential return or replacement in the show.
Why Did Grace Dent quit I’m a Celebrity 2023?
50-year-old MasterChef star, Grace Dent, has left I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here 2023 due to medical reasons. However, her illness hasn’t been revealed yet.
After staying in the jungle for a little over a week, ITV confirmed that Dent had quit the show midway. She was put on a flight back to the UK following her exit.
ITV spokesperson stated:
“Unfortunately Grace Dent has left the show on medical grounds. She has been a great campmate and will be missed by her fellow celebrities and viewers alike.”
Dent had previously seemed ill and even said on camera that she wanted to “go home.” Sources close to her confirmed that she was completely drained throughout her stint in the show. They said (via The Sun):
“Grace is hugely relieved to be out of I’m A Celeb. She pulled the plug because she couldn’t carry on, mentally or physically. It has been incredibly difficult for her and it all became too much.”
The source continued:
“The cold and wet weather, coupled with the punishing tasks and lack of food, took its toll. She has lost a lot of weight and looks gaunt. Her friends just want her to get home.”
Since Dent stayed for ten days and left due to a medical emergency, she is likely to receive her full payday. However, it will be interesting to see if she will make her return in upcoming episodes or be replaced.
Will Grace Dent return or be replaced in I’m a Celebrity 2023?
Since Grace Dent has left for medical reasons, she is unlikely to return. No new contestant is to be added either, but Danielle Harold will be replacing Dent in the Bushtucker trial.
Dent was supposed to join Josie Gibson in the Down the Tubes trial. But she was replaced by Danielle Harold since she got the third-highest number of votes to compete.
