When is the Dandadan anime release date and where can you read the manga online? The paranormal manga by Yukinobu Tatsu is getting an anime adaptation. Here is everything we know so far about the Dandadan anime and where you can read it online.

Is there a Dandadan anime release date?

The Dandadan anime is coming out in October 2024. Prior to this, the first three episodes are getting a theatrical release titled Dandadan: First Encounter. The worldwide screenings are happening on August 31 in Asia, September 7 in Europe, and September 13 in North America.

Dandadan will stream on Netflix and Crunchyroll.

Science SARU is doing the anime adaptation. Fuga Yamashiro (Devilman Crybaby, The Heike Story, Keep Your Hands Off Eizouken!) is directing the anime. Hiroshi Seko (Attack on Titan, Jujutsu Kaisen, Mob Psycho 100) is doing the screenplays and series composition. Kensuke Ushio (Chainsaw Man, A Silent Voice, Heavenly Delusion) is in charge of the music. Naoyuki Onda (Psycho-Pass, Dororo, Banana Fish) is handling character design, while the alien and yokai character designs are done by Yoshimichi Kameda (Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, One Punch Man, Mob Psycho 100).

Where to read the Dandadan manga online

You can read the Dandadan manga online on Shueisha’s Manga Plus. It’s also available on Viz Media’s Shonen Jump. Both of these platforms are available to access through their websites and apps.

In Manga Plus, the first three and latest three chapters are available to read for free. To read the other chapters, you need to subscribe to Manga Plus Max. A standard plan is $1.99/month. It comes with access to ongoing titles. Meanwhile, a deluxe plan is $4.99/month and includes access to complete and ongoing titles. Both plans are ad-free.

In Shonen Jump, the first three and latest three chapters are also free to read. To unlock the other chapters, you need a Shonen Jump subscription. It costs $2.99/month.

Dandadan began serialization in Shueisha’s online magazine, Shonen Jump+, in April 2021. The official synopsis from Shueisha reads:

“Ghosts, monsters, aliens, teen romance, battles…and the kitchen sink! This series has it all! Takakura, an occult maniac who doesn’t believe in ghosts, and Ayase, a girl who doesn’t believe in aliens, try to overcome their differences when they encounter the paranormal! This manga is out of this world!”
