With the Beyoncé Renaissance tour movie heading to the theaters, many fans are interested in the box office projections around it. Is the movie predicted to beat Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour? Here’s all you need to know.
How Much Money is Beyoncé’s Renaissance movie predicted to make?
After having the seventh highest-grossing concert of all time, AMC’s Renaissance: A Film by Beyoncé is tracking to have a $20 million domestic opening.
Beyoncé’s latest concert tour made $579 million and became the seventh biggest concert in terms of making money. So, after the Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour turned out to be a major draw at the movie box office, AMC and Beyoncé teamed up for the Renaissance concert movie as well.
At the moment of writing, AMC’s second concert movie is tracking to make $20 million in its domestic opening weekend. Whether that would be enough to beat Taylor Swift’s concert remains to be seen.
Will Beyoncé Renaissance beat the Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour’s box office?
Since Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour has grossed almost $250 million at the worldwide box office, it’s unlikely for Renaissance: A Film by Beyoncé to beat that.
The Taylor Swift concert movie secured a $92.8M domestic opening and a $123 million global debut. At the moment of writing, it has made $178 million in total at the domestic box office and has a global overhaul of $249 million.
With its minor (but still successful) $20 million opening, Renaissance: A Film by Beyoncé will have to gross big in the international markets. But given that the US has proven to be the biggest market for concert films like The Eras Tour, Renaissance: A Film by Beyoncé may not even come close to its box office, let alone outperform it.
