Brit Marling and Zal Batmanglij created A Murder at the End of the World as a seven-part miniseries for FX on Hulu. So, unless the series creators and the network decide to make more seasons of the show, with Darby investigating a new mystery each season, A Murder at the End of the World Season 2 is unlikely to happen.
“The feeling I love when I come into a story is that somebody’s thought it all out, all the beats of a delicious mystery, and now I get to just sit back and be on a wild ride,” Marling told Vanity Fair in November 2023, effectively indicating that she and her partner were done with the show. “If we’ve done our jobs on this, then it’s just the pleasure of getting to buckle into a roller coaster and have no idea where it’s going.”
