Fans who saw Netflix‘s Leo have many questions about what happens at the end. Here is the ending explained, complete with spoilers.
Why did Ms. Malkin abandon Leo at the Everglades National Park?
Ms. Malkin abandoned Leo at the Everglades National Park, as she did not want the students to learn how Leo advised them and changed their lives eventually.
For much of the film’s runtime, the students hated Ms. Malkin. Malkin was brought in as a substitute teacher for Ms. Salinas, who had gone on a pregnancy leave. Malkin had become bitter after she failed to achieve the popularity enjoyed by her colleagues. She then lashed out at Leo once she found out he was talking to students behind her back.
Principal Spahn eventually announced that the class that performed well would get to visit Magic Land Park as a reward. After Leo’s counseling sessions with students helped them perform well. Spahn took notice and credited Malkin, which made her happy to get what she desired for so long.
However, Malkin concluded that the students would learn the truth and that her spotlight could eventually be removed. Thus, she left Leo at Everglades National Park to get rid of him.
How did Leo find his age?
Leo found out his age with the help of Cinabun.
After Leo rang the evacuation alarm to get the students to leave, he escaped. He then met Cinabun and asked about his age. Cinabun then used basic math to calculate Leo’s age and concluded that he was 74 years old.
Leo concluded that a lizard lived an average of 75 years and thus realized he only had one year left and had not experienced life. Leo then started planning his escape.
Why was Squirtle jealous of Leo?
Squirtle was jealous of Leo because of the latter’s popularity.
Throughout the film, Squirtle remained jealous of Leo’s popularity and successful counseling. Squirtle then hatched a plan to expose what he believed were Leo’s lies. He succeeded once the students found out the lies and boycotted Leo.
