Although Katniss Everdeen is not mentioned, there are several easter eggs and nods referencing her in the film.
The first reference to Katniss Everdeen in the film is white roses. In the film, when Coriolanus Snow meets Lucy Gray for the first time after she arrives at the Capitol to take part in The Hunger Games, he gifts her a white rose.
This is a nod to Coriolanus’ actions in the original Hunger Games films in which he is the president. In the films, Coriolanus leaves white roses for Katniss to hint to her that he is always watching her and her every move. He even drops of thousands of roses in District 12 after bombing a hospital.
Eventually, audiences learn that Coriolanus uses the scent of roses to cover the smell of blood coming from his mouth due to an illness.
