The Kingdoms of Ruin is a dark fantasy anime TV show based on the manga series of the same name written and illustrated by yoruhashi. The plot is set in a world where witches were once highly respected as they helped humanity with their magic. However, due to the rise of the Gear Expansion era, the Redia Empire announces that the witches and their craft have become obsolete because of the advancement of science and orders their extermination. The protagonist of the anime is a human named Adonis, who was orphaned as a child and taken in by the witch Chloe. Following her execution, Adonis resolves to wage war against humanity.
