After a recent The Marvels trailer subtly hinted at the X-Men’s MCU arrival, fans are curious about whether the iconic mutant team is in the movie. Here is all you need to know with spoilers.
Are the X-Men in The Marvels?
Yes, the X-Men are in The Marvels. One of their members, Dr. Hank McCoy, aka Beast, appears in the mid-credits scene of the film.
In the mid-credits scene of The Marvels, Monica Rambeau wakes up in a hospital bed with tubes in her to see her mother, Maria, and becomes happy. Maria, who is confused by Monica’s reaction, tells an unseen doctor monitoring Monica that the latter looks disoriented.
The doctor is revealed to be Hank McCoy, aka Beast, sporting a comic-accurate look complete with a lab coat over fur and pointy hair, and played by Kelsey Grammer, who last played the character in Fox’s X-Men: The Last Stand.
Beast then tells Monica that she is now in a reality that runs parallel to her own, much to her surprise, and informs her that Charles Xavier, aka Professor X, would be interested in Monica’s current predicament.
Who is Beast in The Marvels?
Beast, aka Dr. Hank McCoy, is a mutant with great intelligence and animalistic abilities.
In the comics, Beast, who was one of the six founding members of the X-Men alongside Cyclops, Jean Grey, Angel, Iceman, and Professor X, was originally a human-skinned mutant who possessed ape-like strength and superhuman agility. He eventually underwent further mutation, resulting in ape-like features such as blue fur, pointed ears, claws, and fangs.
In most comic book adaptations of the X-Men, Beast serves as the mutant team’s doctor and scientist. He is also a political activist who frequently campaigns against mutant discrimination.
Who is Charles in The Marvels?
Charles is Professor Charles Xavier, aka Professor X, a paraplegic mutant with telepathic abilities.
In the comics, Professor X is the X-Men’s founder and is the leader of the team in most incarnations. He also runs a private school in Westchester County called Xavier’s School for Gifted Youngsters, where he trains mutants and shields them from humanity.
