With Loki Season 2 approaching its finale, fans are inquisitive about the Avenger Prime Loki. Who is he and does he have a chance to show up in the MCU? Here’s all you need to know.
Who is Avenger Prime Loki?
Avenger Prime Loki is among the strongest versions of the character in the Marvel multiverse and he was tasked with recruiting a team of multiversal Avengers.
Avengers #65 by Jason Aaron iterated the tale of Avenger Prime Loki. During his childhood, Thor died by flying into the sun, leading to Loki becoming King of Asgard. Then he sought to find other Loki variants in the Multiverse, but all of them wanted to betray him.
In his multiversal journey, he also noticed a commonality that the Avengers in most universes always assembled against the Lokis of their respective universes. So, he decided to go back to his Universe and stop the Avengers from ever assembling. After preventing their formation, he also defeated several powerful villains and ultimately became the only one left in his universe.
Feeling lonely and depressed, he decided to fly into the sun, similar to how his brother died. But instead, he ended up at a place called the God Quarry. He wasn’t allowed to die and to pay for his crimes, the God Quarry punished him by turning him into Avenger Prime. He built the Avengers Tower at the God Quarry and recruited multiversal Avengers, who operated in the shadows to keep the multiverse safe.
Is Avenger Prime Loki coming to the MCU?
Avenger Prime Loki is not confirmed to appear in the MCU, but a Loki variant that is rumored to show up in episode 6 could be partially or fully inspired by him.
The Loki variant appearing in episode 6 is believed to be the God of Stories because of Loki’s new ability to “rewrite the story.” But it is also possible for this version to be partially inspired by Avenger Prime Loki.
While the all-powerful Loki we see in episode 6 might still be God of Stories, he is speculated to task the TVA to recruit Prime Marvel heroes from across the multiverse, and lead things into Avengers: Secret Wars. After all, that’s what is rumored to happen in Deadpool 3. However, nothing is confirmed and all rumors need to be taken with a grain of salt.
