Does Maki Die in the Shibuya arc?
Fortunately, Maki does not die in the Shibuya arc of Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2.
Season 2 Episode 15 (Episode 39 overall) showed Maki, Nanami, Naobito, and Megumi fighting Dagon, a special grade cursed spirit. Eventually, the group figured out a way to exit Dagon’s Domain. However, a reincarnated Toji Fushiguro unexpectedly enters the Domain. Toji becomes a puppet of carnage and attacks Dagon. With Toji’s overwhelming strength and ability, he kills Dagon and the Domain disappears.
Jogo shows up and sees that his friend is gone. He mourns the loss of Dagon and avenges him. He lights Maki, Nanami, and Naobito on fire. At this point, anime watchers do not know if any of these jujutsu sorcerers end up surviving against Jogo’s flames.
The manga eventually shows that Maki has survived the attack. However, she did sustain severe injuries and she ended up getting scars all over her body.
Does Maki Die in Jujutsu Kaisen?
As of the latest manga chapter, Maki fans can be assured that she is still alive in the current timeline of Jujutsu Kaisen.
Fans who only watch the anime and like Maki can expect more from her in the next story arcs. She remains a significant character in the manga. She also has an arc that focuses on her character and her development. Although, fans will have to wait for the next season of the series to see that.
