This is because the family drama series has ended after a six-season run on television. According to showrunner Dan Fogelman at a TCA event for the show, Season 6 was always the ending season for him, and if more seasons were made beyond the sixth, it could have ruined the show’s quality and integrity.
Fogelman also revealed to The Hollywood Reporter that he visualized the final episode of the series all the way back during Season 1 and had not changed the finale’s look and feel in the years that followed.
