Developed by Erica Saleh, One of Us Is Lying is a teen drama mystery series streaming on Peacock. Based on the namesake 2017 novel by Karen M. McManus, the plot revolves around five students – Simon, Addy, Cooper, Bronwyn, and Nate – at Bayview High. After they enter detention together, one of them dies under mysterious circumstances, leading to an investigation, in which the other four are persons of interest.

In January 2023, three months after the release of the second season, Peacock canceled One of Us Is Lying along with Vampire Academy. According to Deadline, while Peacock was satisfied with the creative aspects of both shows, neither really drew enough viewers to convince the network to develop more seasons.
