A spin-off of All American, the newer series revolves around Simone Hicks, who leaves her boyfriend and Los Angeles behind to attend Bringston University in Atlanta, Georgia, with the resolve to become a professional tennis player.

In June 2023, All American: Homecoming was renewed for a 13-episode season 3, becoming one of the four legacy CW dramas to be greenlit for another season along with Superman & Lois, All American, and Walker. Both All American: Homecoming and Superman & Lois are produced by Warner Bros. Television and Berlanti Productions. Brad Schwartz, the entertainment president at The CW, said in a statement:
“We are thrilled to bring All American: Homecoming and Superman & Lois back to The CW. These series are two of our strongest performers across our linear and digital platforms with some of the most passionate fanbases in all of television. We are grateful to our partners at Warner Bros. Television and Berlanti Productions for their continued collaboration, and we cannot wait to get started on the new seasons.”
Season 3 was reportedly supposed to premiere on October 10, 2023, but due to the Hollywood strikes, it was postponed. Even though the WGA has called off its strike, SAG-AFTRA hasn’t, and that’s likely to continue impacting the release date. As a result, it’s safe to presume that All American: Homecoming will come out in 2024.

The potential cast for season 3 includes Geffri Maya as Simone Hicks, Kelly Jenrette as Amara Patterson, Cory Hardrict as Coach Marcus Turner, Sylvester Powell as Jessie “J.R.” Raymond, Jr., Peyton Alex Smith as Damon Sims, Camille Hyde as Thea Mays, Mitchell Edwards as Cam Watkins, Netta Walker as Keisha McCalla, and more. Due to the budget cuts under The CW’s new ownership, Smith and Jenrette were removed as series regulars. Jenrette subsequently made a deal to appear in the show in a recurring capacity. Smith may also have the same status in the upcoming season.
