Evil was officially renewed for season 4 in July 2022. Nicole Clemens, the current President of Paramount Television Studios (PTVS) and Paramount Plus Original Scripted Series, subsequently said in a statement: “Evil continues to expand its fanbase of both critics and viewers alike. Season three currently has a 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, and it is a consistent top five most-watched original series and acquisition driver for the service. We couldn’t be more excited to be terrified by what Robert and Michelle create for season four with our outstanding cast bringing it to life.”
The production for season 4 started in December 2022 and concluded in May 2023 ahead of schedule, reportedly due to an unnamed cast member leaving the show for personal matters and the disruption caused by the writers’ strike. Season 4 was initially supposed to have 10 episodes. It is unknown whether the episode number will be reduced because of this.
Although the writers’ strike has ended, the actors are still on strike, and that likely has some impact on the fourth season’s release date. Given the circumstances, Evil Season 4 will likely come out in 2024 at the earliest.
