Following episode 3, many fans are asking about Sam Witwer in Ahsoka. With the credits revealing the actor as an “additional voice,” questions are being asked about whether the Starkiller actor is playing Marrok. Here’s what we know so far about Sam Witwer being in the Ahsoka credits.
Is Sam Witwer playing Marrok in Ahsoka?
It seems like Sam Witwer is providing the voice for Marrok in Ahsoka. However, this has not yet been confirmed.
Following episode 3 of Ahsoka, where Marrok spoke several lines, the immediate reaction of longtime Star Wars fans was “That’s Sam Witwer!”, as the voice sounded incredibly similar to Starkiller in The Force Unleashed, who was also portrayed by Sam Witwer.
At the time of writing, however, the voice actor for Marrok has not yet been confirmed. It’s possible that the voice of the actor is just incredibly similar to Sam Witwer’s.
With all of that said, Sam Witwer does appear in the Ahsoka credits. However, he’s simply listed as an “additional voice” and it’s not clear which characters he has lent his voice to. In the past, Witwer has portrayed a range of Star Wars characters, from simple grunts to Darth Maul. Therefore, he could be playing something as minor as a masked trooper or a major character such as Marrok himself.
Is Marrok Starkiller from The Force Unleashed games?
Even if he is played by Sam Witwer, it’s very unlikely that Marrok is Starkiller from The Force Unleashed.
It’s unlikely that Ahsoka will reveal that Vader had a secret apprentice that he was training to take down the Emperor. Instead, it’s likely that the link between Marrok and Starkiller is solely the actor playing them, if Witwer is indeed revealed to be Marrok.
If Witwer is revealed to be Marrok, you can expect this to be more of a nod to longtime fans, rather than any canonical link to Starkiller.
