Dark Winds is a psychological thriller series based on the “Leaphorn & Chee” novels by Tony Hillerman. The ongoing season is inspired by the 1980 book titled “People of Darkness.” The events of the show take place in the 1970s when Lt. Joe Leaphorn and his former deputy turned Private Investigator work on different cases that lead them to follow the same murder suspect.
Zahn McClarnon as Lt. Joe Leaphorn and Kiowa Gordon as Jim Chee reunite in Season 2 as part of the lead cast. Others starring in the show are Jessica Matten as Bernadette Manuelito, Rainn Wilson as ‘Devoted’ Dan DeMarco, Nicholas Logan as Colton Wolf, and Noah Emmerich as Leland Whitover.

“Lt. Joe Leaphorn reunites with Jim Chee, his former deputy turned private eye, when their separate cases bring them together in pursuit of the same suspect. They find themselves in the high desert of Navajo Country chasing a killer who’s turned his sights on them to protect a secret that rips open old wounds and challenges Leaphorn’s moral and professional code.
