The large Barbie doll in Dubai is making waves across TikTok, Twitter (X), and other social media platforms. Here is the need-to-know info about the giant Barbie doll and whether it is real or fake using CGI.
Is the giant Barbie doll in Dubai real or fake?
The giant Barbie doll in Dubai is fake.
While it looks pretty convincing, there was never a giant Barbie doll in front of the Burj Khalifa. Dubai was not the host to an enormous Barbie doll. It was all fake.
How did they put a giant Barbie doll in Dubai?
Eye Studio put a giant Barbie doll in Dubai using software.
In an interview with The Nation, Eye Studio explained that the viral video took three days to create. The team started with generic footage of the Burl Khalifa shot on an iPhone. Then the animated Barbie doll stepping out of her box was superimposed on top.
Needless to say, it looks pretty convincing, to the point where many social media users were convinced that a large Barbie doll was indeed in Dubai as part of a huge marketing event.
Eye Studio no doubt considers the project a success. At the time of writing, it has amassed a whopping 188,000 Likes and 1,200 comments. What’s more, the video was reposted to Twitter by @alexgarcia_atx. There it has achieved 440,000 views.
Though Dubai is widely renowned as a city of extravagance and the most believable candidate for an ad campaign like this, it’s all completely fake.
The Barbie movie has proven wildly popular and a large part of its success is surely down to the sheer amount of marketing.
