With a confirmation of the next season coming in March 2022, the True Detective Season 4 release date has been hotly anticipated ever since. Its first season featuring Woody Harrelson and Matthew McConaughey, arrived in 2014. Since then, HBO launched two more seasons of mystery thrillers upon fan demand. The quality dropped in season 2, but season 3 picked things up perfectly. So, it’s understandable why fans are eagerly looking forward to season 4. But when is it coming out?

Is there a True Detective Season 4 release date?
True Detective Season 4’s release date will arrive sometime in 2024.
After season 3 ended in February 2019, it took a while for HBO to announce another season. But in March 2022, the announcement finally came, and the fourth season went into production in November 2022.
Surprisingly enough, True Detective season 4 footage was included in the HBO Max’s 2023 releases trailer earlier this year. Later, an official teaser of the series also confirmed its release in 2023. So, it was presumed to arrive in November or December, considering that most series take at least 12 months to wrap up production and post-production. But, the series has recently been pushed to sometime in 2024 as per HBO.

Titled True Detective: Night Country, the latest season will take place in an Alaskan setting. The leading detectives, Liz Danvers and Evangeline Navarro, will investigate a horrific mystery where 8 men go missing in the Alaskan darkness. The detectives are played by Jodie Foster and Kali Reis, respectively. Another persona joining the series is a police officer played by John Hawkes.
Where is True Detective Season 4 coming out?
True Detective Season 4 is expected to come out on HBO and MAX.
The official synopsis of the series reads:
“When the long winter night falls in Ennis, Alaska, the eight men who operate the Tsalal Arctic Research Station vanish without a trace. To solve the case, Detectives Liz Danvers (Jodie Foster) and Evangeline Navarro (Kali Reis) will have to confront the darkness they carry in themselves and dig into the haunted truths that lie buried under the eternal ice.”
