What happens to Josh and Dalton in Insidious: The Red Door ending?
Josh and Dalton Lambert survive the events of Insidious: The Red Door and escape The Further.
Before the credits, Elise Rainier visits Josh and tells him he and his son will live happily. Still, the ending is quite ambiguous as Josh still doesn’t recall Elise is dead and he’s, in fact, visited by her ghost. Ultimately, Josh and Dalton mended their relationship. Elise’s words also leave an open door for more Insidious stories. The camera focuses on a new painting drawn by Dalton of his dad saving him from The Further.
Is the Insidious movie series ending with Insidious 5?
Apparently, Insidious 5 is the last movie in the horror franchise.
Through different promotional materials, producers teased Insidious: The Red Door would conclude the Insidious movie series. However, the end-credit scene does feature the Door (after being painted black from red) lighting up once again. Does it mean the Insidious series isn’t over yet? It’s hard to tell now that the movie just hit theaters.
While much will depend on the film’s success at the box office, it seems part of the cast is done with the franchise, with actress Lin Shaye recently confessing the time might be suitable for the end. Still, there are other paths producers might explore, including spin-offs, prequels, and more. The current plan is for the franchise to go on hiatus for a while.
