The appearance of Groot in Secret Invasion is sure to surprise a lot of viewers. However, the existence of Groot’s powers has been teased in the show’s trailer, in a blink-and-you-will-miss-it moment. Here’s what we know about Gravik with Groot’s powers. Spoilers ahead!
How does Gravik get Groot’s powers in Secret Invasion?
Though not yet confirmed, it seems like Gravik will get Groot’s powers by using the Guardians of the Galaxy hero’s harvested DNA.
In the show’s trailer, Gravik can be seen wielding powers that are very similar to Groot’s. Applying what we have learned from episodes 1 and 2 of Secret Invasion, Gravik is expected to get Groot’s powers through the experiment carried about by Rosa Dalton.
There’s also a possibility that the other DNA samples, such as those from the Frost Beast and Cull Obsidian, may be used to give other Skrull soldiers superheroic powers. Gravik could take Groot while another soldier could get Cull Obsidian’s overwhelming strength. That would be pretty terrifying and tough to go up against!
Why is Groot on the Secret Invasion computer?
Groot is on the computer in Secret Invasion because his DNA has been harvested.
Listed as “Acquired,” Groot’s DNA has been taken and identified as “Flora Colossus (Humanoid Plant)” from the Planet X.
After making an appearance on Earth during the Infinity War and Endgame battles, it’s likely that Groot’s DNA was left behind. We also see samples from Frost Beast and Cull Obsidian, in addition to the Extremis Virus.
While Groot isn’t likely to appear in the Secret Invasion show, fans will at least get to see a Skrull wielding the Guardian’s powers.
