Speaking to Polygon, the Secret Invasion director and executive producer Ali Selim explained that the opening sequence was designed by Method Studios using artificial intelligence. Selim appeared enthusiastic about the process, saying how the use of A.I. generation gels with “the shape-shifting, Skrull world identity.”
At the time of writing, however, the intro sequence is attracting a lot of negative attention on social media. One of the most notable criticisms comes from Jeff Simpson, who worked on Secret Invasion’s character design. He tweeted that he was “devastated.”
Whatever you may think of the intro, it’s certainly driving discussions online and, I imagine, encouraging people to load up the new series to see what exactly everyone is talking about.

With Disney and Marvel clearly being interested in using A.I. generation techniques to create intro sequences for a Disney Plus show, it’s easy to see how that could be expanded to include future TV shows and even movies.
It remains to be seen how Disney and Marvel react to this backlash, as the intro sequences of future TV shows and movies will surely be heavily scrutinized.
