Sarah Lancashire leads the series as the formidable Catherine Cawood. She’s a hard-working Sergeant and police community officer, working in the beautiful yet sometimes deadly Yorkshire landscapes. In the Calder Valley, she is faced with plenty of tragedy; some of which hit home many years before.
Sgt. Cawood has a particular history with Tommy Lee Royce, played by James Norton. She blames him for the death of her daughter and has a complicated relationship with her grandson Ryan (Rhys Connah) because of their shared bloodline.
