Dominic Toretto, Letty Ortiz, Roman Pearce, and the rest of the family are back for another over-the-top, high-octane adventure in the upcoming Fast X movie. Will Fast 10 be the last movie in the Fast and Furious franchise? Or will fans see the Toretto family reunite again in the future? Here’s what you need to know.
Will there be another Fast and Furious movie?
Fast X isn’t the last movie of the Fast and Furious franchise, as Fast and Furious 11 is already in development.
Dom (Vin Diesel) and his crew will return for the eleventh time somewhere in 2025. Much of the information is still under wraps, but Fast X director Louis Leterrier will also helm Fast and Furious 11, with Christina Hodson and Oren Uziel penning the script. The upcoming film will see Dom and the others driving into the sunset in what is likely the final installment in the Fast and Furious movie series. Fast X will speed into theaters on May 19.
“Over many missions and against impossible odds, Dom Toretto (Vin Diesel) and his family have outsmarted, out-nerved and outdriven every foe in their path,” reads the film’s synopsis. “Now, they confront the most lethal opponent they’ve ever faced: A terrifying threat emerging from the shadows of the past who’s fueled by blood revenge and who is determined to shatter this family and destroy everything — and everyone — that Dom loves, forever.”
The Fast and Furious franchise is making history in terms of actors reprising the same characters on the big screen. Besides Diesel, Fast X stars Tyrese Gibson, Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, Ludacris, Nathalie Emmanuel, Sung Kang, John Cena, Jason Statham, and Scott Eastwood. The list of franchise newcomers includes Jason Momoa (Aquaman), Daniela Melchior (The Suicide Squad), Brie Larson (Captain Marvel), and Alan Ritchson (Reacher).
Leterrier directed the film from a script penned by Justin Lin and Dan Mazeau, with Lin also attached as a producer.
