The Met Gala 2023 was held yesterday, with its spring exhibition theme of ‘Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty.’ The annual fundraising event once again hosted a slew of celebrities, with everyone from Anne Hathaway, to Jared Leto, to Lil Nas X making an appearance. Here are the best-dressed celebrities who drew the most attention.
Jared Leto tops Meta Gala 2023 trends, becomes a furry
Jared Leto dressed as a cat for the Met Gala 2023, effectively becoming a furry. Cats were a big theme during the event, but the Morbius actor’s effort was arguably more realistic than other attempts.
Leto may not have been as fashion-focused as other attendees, but his fursuit ensured that he was the highest-trending guest during the Met Gala 2023. Congrats, we guess?
Lil Nas X is Met Gala 2023’s runner-up
Lil Nas X ended up generating almost as much discussion as Jared Leto, as the ‘Montero’ rapper’s outfit wasn’t much of an outfit at all.
Donning silver body paint, Swarovski crystals, and very little else, Lil Nas X’s look saw him trending just behind Leto as the gala’s most talked about guest.
Serena Williams announces pregnancy on Met Gala red carpet
Serena Williams was also trending after the Met Gala for a completely different reason than her choice of outfit, with the tennis superstar confirming that she was pregnant during the event.
Alongside her Reddit co-founder husband Alexis Ohanian, Serena stated that there were “three of us” attending the gala, promptly resulting in plenty of discussion around the 23-time major winner.
Doja Cat lives up to her name
Doja Cat provided another feline-focused look with her pretty creepy facial prosthetics. Also wearing an Oscar de la Renta dress, she basically looked like what the Cats movie should’ve been.
The singer and rapper also conducted red-carpet interviews by meowing, adding another layer of surreality to her eye-catching get-up.
Anne Hathaway wears Versace held with safety pins
Anne Hathaway wore a Versace dress pulled together by golden safety pins, and was one of the highest-trending celebrities on the red carpet as a result.
