No, Kevin Feige Is Not Fired From Marvel

Rob Liefeld, co-creator of Deadpool, recently made a shocking comment about getting the President of Marvel Studios, Kevin Feige fired. He criticized the Marvel boss over the lackluster performance of Captain America: Brave New World. These follow-up comments came after he had already cut off all ties with studios due to his alleged mistreatment by Marvel and his exclusion from the Deadpool & Wolverine afterparty.

Here are the exact details of Liefeld’s remarks on Feige.

Why fans think Kevin Feige is being fired from Marvel

Liefeld’s latest remarks about Marvel getting rid of Feige have made fans wonder about his departure. However, the truth is he is not leaving Marvel and is bound to stay till Secret Wars and possibly beyond.

Liefeld recently took to X (formerly Twitter) expressing his opinions on the performance of Anthony Mackie-led Captain America 4. He retweeted news from a media outlet about the movie earning $7.2M the previous day at the domestic box office. The numbers appeared to be an 82.4% drop from opening weekend. Expressing his disappointment over the movie’s performance, he wrote, “Get Feige off the mound. He’s spent.”

This is not the first time the renowned comic book creator has slammed Feige. He previously revealed on a podcast episode of Robservations about Feige’s alleged mistreatment of comic book creators. He said, “Kevin Feige does not treat comic book creators well. That is my personal experience.”

Beginning in early 2023, Liefeld’s relationship with Marvel began to deteriorate. It happened when he discovered about the company’s “controversial decision” to give Wolverine’s co-creator credit to former editor-in-chief Roy Thomas rather than Christine Valada, the widow of original creator Len Wein.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, “The character was created decades before Liefeld worked in comics, but he is close to Christine Valada, the widow of late Wolverine co-creator Len Wein, who was upset with the decision.”

The next year, the well-known comic book author sent Marvel an email requesting special credit for Deadpool and Wolverine. He also requested access to premieres and other opportunities. However, per him, his requests were seemingly ignored. After he and his family were snubbed from Deadpool & Wolverine afterparty, he decided to officially cut ties with Marvel.
