Many celebrities lost their homes due to multiple fires throughout Los Angeles. The Palisades fire, Eaton fire, and Sunset fire (also known as the Hollywood Hills fire) have forced thousands of residents throughout LA County to evacuate. Many celebrities affected by the LA fire have tearfully confirmed that their houses have burned down. And with these three wildfires still at 0% containment, as of January 9 at 11:00 AM PT according to Cal Fire, many more houses are still at risk of being lost.
Which celebrity homes burned down due to the Los Angeles fires?
The following celebrities have lost their homes due to the numerous LA fires, as confirmed by their official social media accounts and various sources including Variety, People, Associated Press, and more. That said, there are many who don’t know if their houses still stand.
Anthony Hopkins
Legendary actor Anthony Hopkins lost his $6 million home in the Pacific Palisades area, as shown by photos in Daily Mail. He moved into the home in 2021 after his prior home in Malibu still stood after the Woolsey fire in 2018.
Anna Faris
Actress Anna Faris has lost her Pacific Palisades home as well. A statement from a representative said that “Anna and her family are safe and very grateful.”
Adam Brody & Leighton Meester
Photos of the LA fires, per People, confirm that the home of “Nobody Wants This” actor Adam Brody and his wife Leighton Meester has burned down. The couple purchased the Pacific Palisades home in 2019, as reported by Architectural Digest.
Billy Crystal
Actor Billy Crystal said that his Pacific Palisades home was destroyed in the fires, in a statement reported by the AP. He and his wife Janice had lived in the home since 1979, stating “we are heartbroken of course but with the love of our children and friends we will get through this.”
Cameron Mathison
General Hospital actor Cameron Mathison shared a devastating video of his home on fire in an Instagram post. While he and his family are safe, the clip shows that there’s very little left standing of his house.
Denise Crosby
Actress Denise Crosby, known for her portrayal of Tasha Yar and Yar’s daughter Sela in Star Trek: The Next Generation, revealed on X that her Spanish cottage home had turned to “ashes” due to the Palisades fire.
John Goodman
Pictures of “Roseanne” actor John Goodman’s home in Pacific Palisades, per Daily Mail, show that nothing is left standing. The $4.6 million, 5250 sq ft. house he purchased in 2008 has been reduced to cinders.
Mandy Moore
In an Instagram post on January 9, actress Mandy Moore confirmed that much of her home in Altadena has burned down. While a part of her house is “still standing” and mostly intact, it’s “not livable.” Still, she feels a “weird survivors guilt” because she has family and friends who have lost everything.
Miles Teller & Keleigh Teller

Television host Ricki Lake confirmed on her Instagram account that she has lost her “dream home,” calling the loss “immeasurable.” Fortunately, her husband Ross and her dog Dolly have escaped and are safe with her.
