What Happened to the AGT Dancing Dog Act for America’s Got Talent 2024?

An impressive AGT dancing dog act wowed the audience and the judges during the quarterfinals of America’s Got Talent 2024. Trainer Roni Sagi and dog Rhythm danced to Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody” and “Don’t Stop Me Now,” doing a choreographed routine that rivals the winning dog act from AGT 2023, Adrian Stoica & Hurricane. The show reveals some details about Sagi and Rhythm, but some might want to know more about this human and dog show. Here’s what we know so far about the dancing dog act for AGT 2024.

Who is the AGT dancing dog act in 2024?

The dancing dog act for AGT 2024 features Israeli dog trainer Roni Sagi and a black-and-white border collie named Rhythm who is nearing three years old.

The first AGT performance for Sagi and Rhythm appeared on June 11, 2024 where they danced to a slower tune, “California Dreamin'” by Sia. Though they didn’t receive a golden buzzer, they did receive a standing ovation from the audience and all four judges.

The same thing happened for their quarterfinals performance, which will carry them well into the results show on August 14, 2024. Judge Howie Mandel said that if he had the ability to push the golden buzzer for the act, he would have. At any rate, if they receive enough votes, they will be moving onto the semifinals and will be one step closer to the $1 million prize. [Update: Sagi & Rhythm was the last act to make it to the semifinals!]

This actually isn’t the first time that Sagi has performed with a dog. As noted by The Times of Israel, she appeared in a competition in the Czech Republic in 2021 where she danced with another border collie named Pesach. In fact, she earned third place in the freestyle competition for dog dancing with Pesach at the 2022 Open European Championship. Sagi also danced professionally from 1998 to 2009 before entering the world of dog dancing.

Sagi revealed to NBC producers that she took in Rhythm around February 2022 and described him as a “tornado storm running everywhere” from the start. The trainer has a dog dancing business called Keta Tov, a school where she has multiple courses that teach students various moves for themselves and their dogs.
