Former Disney Channel star Skai Jackson was allegedly arrested last week on domestic violence charges against her boyfriend. Authorities claim that the actress, now 22, had more than one physical altercation with her partner inside Universal Studios Hollywood, which led West Hollywood Deputies to detain Jackson.
Why was Skai Jackson arrested?
According to TMZ, Skai Jackson was allegedly spotted at Universal CityWalk by security engaged in aggressive and violent behavior. She was arguing with her boyfriend and pushed him multiple times. As a result, security detained the couple and contacted the LA Sheriff’s Department.
When the deputies arrived, Jackson allegedly denied any physical altercation occurring, stating that the man she was with was her fiance and that she was pregnant with his child. However, upon reviewing security footage, the deputies saw evidence she was lying. As a result, she was placed under arrest for misdemeanor domestic battery assault.
According to publically available records from the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department, Skai Jackson was arrested at approximately 5:50 p.m. on August 9, 2024, and booked at the West Hollywood Sheriff’s Station at 6:30 p.m. She was released on $20,000 bail around 9:30 p.m. the same night. Information on her next court date isn’t available yet. However, as of writing, the LA County District Attorney’s Office hasn’t decided whether to pursue or drop the charges.
Jackson’s career has largely fizzled out since “graduating” from her Disney Channel days. Since then, she’s mostly known for appearing in Lil Nas X’s Panini video, feuding with Bhad Bhabie, and asking her 21 million viewers on TikTok to send her $5 on CashApp to enter a raffle for a MacBook.
This incident marks another controversial chapter in Jackson’s post-Disney career, reflecting a stark departure from her earlier public persona. How this will affect her future projects and public image remains to be seen.
