How Old is Quincy Wilson: Age and Date of Birth

Olympic viewers were wondering how old Quincy Wilson is. The runner participated in the 4×400-meter relay and became the youngest American male to compete in track at the Olympics. As such, you’ll likely be surprised to find out Wilson’s age and the year he was born.

What’s Quincy Wilson’s age, and what year was he born?

According to World Athletics, Quincy Wilson is 16 years old. He was born on January 8, 2008. While most people would be surprised at a 16-year-old participating in the Olympics and assume you have to be 18 to compete, that’s not the case. The age limit depends on the event, and athletes as young as 10 have participated in the past.

Wilson set the outdoor under-18 boys world record in the 400m at the US Olympic Trials in June and ended up placing sixth overall for the event with a time of 44.94. While that wasn’t good enough to make it on the team for the 400m, he was added to the 4x400m relay pool.

Wilson’s performance during the Olympics left a bit to be desired though. Despite his excellent performance at the trials, he ran a disappointing 47.27 during his leg of the first round of the 4x400m relay. Fortunately, his teammates were able to salvage the race and Team USA finished in third. It advanced to the finals, which will take place on Saturday, August 10.

Quincy Wilson’s participation at only 16 brings both excitement and scrutiny. Though not his best, his Olympic relay performance sets a critical learning stage. As Team USA proceeds to the finals, anticipation builds around how Wilson will utilize this experience to enhance his and the team’s performance. His journey is a captivating example of youthful talent facing the immense pressures of international sports, promising significant growth and potential highlights in his emerging athletic career.
