Donald Trump Water Bottle: What Happened During His NABJ Interview? Incident Explained

During Donald Trump’s heated interview at the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) convention, a small but notable incident involving a water bottle caught the public’s eye. The footage of this moment quickly went viral on X (formerly Twitter), leading to widespread curiosity and speculation about what exactly happened.

Here is everything to know about Donald Trump’s water bottle incident at NABJ convention.

Donald Trump’s water bottle incident explained

A video of former President Donald Trump at the National Association of Black Journalists interview in Chicago recently went viral. The footage shows Trump adjusting a water bottle that did not belong to him during an interview. He reaches across the table, grabs the bottle from Rachel Scott’s side, and twists the lid. Instead of drinking from it, he places it back on the table and moves it closer to himself. In another video, Trump is later shown picking up the bottle again and drinking from it.

The incident triggered varied reactions online. Some interpreted Trump’s actions as a deliberate show of control. It might be in response to challenging questions posed by ABC’s Rachel Scott about his past statements on Black communities and journalists. Others suggested the move might be linked to security concerns, considering Trump’s recent high-profile security issues. Another perspective viewed it as a simple gesture to assist Scott and possibly trying to open the bottle for her.

Though Donald Trump’s NABJ interview was initially set to last an hour, it was cut short after about 35 minutes. The conversation quickly soured as Trump engaged in heated disputes with journalists and accused them of being late. He described their behavior as “disgraceful.” Throughout the interview, Trump made several provocative claims. This includes questioning Kamala Harris’s racial identity and asserting that she had failed her bar exam. He also suggested that millions of people crossing the border would be taking “Black jobs.”
