Why is Nikki Haley Mad at George Stephanopoulos?

Nikki Haley, former United Nations Ambassador and Republican presidential candidate, expressed her displeasure at George Stephanopoulos in a recent tweet. Some onlookers might have been a little confused at the caption, which read, “Believe me now, George?” The caption accompanied a video of Haley’s appearance on Good Morning America in August 2023. Here’s why Haley is mad at Stephanopoulos and what she’s referring to in the tweet.

What did Nikki Haley mean by “Believe me now, George?” on X/Twitter?

In her recent tweet, Nikki Haley said, “Believe me now, George?” referring to a comment she made on Good Morning America in August 2023 in a back-and-forth with George Stephanopoulos.

During the conversation, Haley stated, “There is no way Joe Biden is going to finish his term. I think Kamala Harris is going to be the next president and that should send a chill up every American’s spine.”

Stephanopoulos responded by asking how she knew Joe Biden wouldn’t finish his term. She retorted by telling him to “Ask Americans” and referenced Biden’s alleged decline in mental and physical health.

Biden’s ability to perform has been an elephant in the room for the Democrats for the past few years. Until recently, the party responded by rallying around Biden and downplaying his detractors. However, Biden’s horrific performance in his first debate against Trump shook the establishment and led many to think he may be replaced as the Democrat candidate for 2024.

Despite her low popularity, Kamala Harris would be a presumptive pick to replace Biden if the Democrats choose to do so. Haley’s tweet comment to Stephanopoulos is basically an “I told you so.”

The possibilities of Harris replacing Biden on the ticket, him passing away and her succeeding him, or Congress removing him from office via the 25th Amendment have definitely increased since August 2023. So, Stephanopoulos’s assertion that Biden will complete a second term may have been premature.
