Fans are wondering who the Bridgerton Season 4 lead will be, particularly which sibling in the Bridgerton family will go through their own love story. From what we know so far, the fourth season will likely arrive in 2026, two years after Season 3, which is enough time for some of the unmarried Bridgertons to be ready for romance. This means that we still have plenty of choices to become the central character for the season four plot, though we have a few quotes from showrunner Jess Brownell that help point us toward a particular sibling. Here is who we think Bridgerton Season 4 will be about. (Warning: Some spoilers of Season 3 will be revealed below.)
Who will be the Bridgerton Season 4 lead?
The Bridgerton Season 4 lead will most likely be Benedict Bridgerton, the second eldest son of the family, with Francesca, Eloise, and Violet being main side characters.
Benedict has been fairly free with his romantic pursuits in the first three seasons of the Netflix series. Despite his dalliance with Lady Tilley Arnold and her partner Paul Suarez in Season 3, he chooses to remain open and not go steady with her. Also, Season 3 is actually based on the fourth book that the series is based on, Romancing Mister Bridgerton, and skips over the third book, An Offer From a Gentleman, where Benedict is the main character. So it’s about time for us to see Benedict to navigate the marriage market as well.
In the novels, Benedict has a romance with Sophie Beckett, an illegitimate child of the Earl of Penwood who becomes a maid for her family, a character who is a reinterpreation of the classic Cinderella story. The Netflix series has altered Benedict to be bisexual, so this plot thread may not pan out the same way in the show.
Meanwhile, Eloise Bridgerton is still finding out who she is and, at the end of Season 3 finale, is going to Scotland along with Francesca in search of her independence, gaining more knowledge of the world outside of the ton. Francesca herself may experience tragedy if the plot follows the books in terms of what happens to Lord Kilmartin. The widowed Violet Bridgerton has also opened herself up to another romance late in life with Lord Anderson, Lady Danbury’s older brother, so we’ll likely see more of their relationship in Season 4 too.
