Sony Reveals Details on PlayStation Now Subscription Service

It was almost exactly one year ago that Sony first announced their PlayStation Now service, which would allows players to stream games directly to the consoles, with no patches, downloads, or installs, and giving players the power to access the games at any time from a multitude of devices. The service at the time was done on a game by game basis, but now Sony has confirmed that a subscription service for PlayStation Now will be offered beginning January 13.

Players can select from two subscription plans, a one-month plan for $19.99 or a three-month plan for $44.99, that include over 100 available games to choose from including The Last of Us, Batman: Arkham City, Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune, and BioShock Infinite among many others. You can check out the launch trailer for PlayStation Now and the preview image below.

The service will begin on the PlayStation 4 before rolling out to other PlayStation Now enabled devices in the future with a seven day free trial available for the service at launch. In addition, a PlayStation Now theme will be available for PS4 users in early January and all users that download the theme before January 31 will be automatically entered into a drawing for a chance to win a one-year subscription to PlayStation Now.
