The latest Sonic the Hedgehog game has been revealed by Sega, as the first Sonic x Shadow Generations trailer was released at today’s State of Play.
The trailer begins by showing off gameplay from 2011’s Sonic Generations, followed by the surprise appearance of Sonic’s rival, Shadow the Hedgehog. Clips are shown of Shadow platforming through stages and interacting with Doom’s Eye/Black Doom — a character from 2005’s Shadow the Hedgehog. This, combined with the footage of Shadow battling the Sonic Adventure 2 boss Biolizard, suggests that numerous iconic Shadow stages are being remade for his campaign.
The video ends by revealing that Sonic x Shadow Generations will release this coming autumn. The trailer’s description lists the game’s official website, though it doesn’t appear to be live as of the time of writing.
