New Blair Witch Teaser Takes Gamers On A 4K Tour Through The Woods

We’re only a couple of weeks away from the anticipated video game adaptation of the cult-favorite horror movie series Blair Witch and Bloober Team is keeping the hype train rolling with a new teaser taking gamers on an atmospheric and eerie 4k tour through the woods, which can be viewed in the player below!

The game takes place in 1996 — three years before the 1999 film. It starts when a young boy disappears in the Black Hills Forest near Burkittsville, Maryland. As Ellis, a former police officer with a troubled past, you join the search. What starts as an ordinary investigation soon turns into an endless nightmare as you confront your fears and the Blair Witch, a mysterious force that haunts the woods.

The horror franchise started with 1999’s The Blair Witch Project, which chronicled three aspiring documentarians as they got lost in the woods and evil forces kept creeping in. The following year, Book of Shadows: Blair Witch 2, which was a more conventional film that took a meta look at its predecessor. Then, in 2016, the horror film The Woods was revealed to be another sequel in the franchise, also titled Blair Witch.
