Check Out the Latest Final Fantasy VII Remake Trailer!

After four years since the first announcement of its development, Square Enix has finally released a brand new teaser trailer for the upcoming Final Fantasy VII remake, revealed yesterday during Sony Playstation’s State of Play broadcast. The video offers us a new look at original characters Cloud, Barrett and Aerith in even better graphics. Also featuring a preview of the game’s actual gameplay, you can check out the video below.

In 2015 it was announced that the Final Fantasy VII remake was in development with original artist Tetsuya Nomura working as the director. The remake is expected to retell the story of the original game following fan-favorite Cloud Strife. Further details about the new game are being kept under wraps but more information will be revealed this year at E3 in June.

Final Fantasy VII was first released in 1997 and at the time of its debut became an instant fan-favorite with over a million copies sold in North America. In 2005, it was reported that the game has sold more than 11 million copies worldwide.

The game also garnered multiple awards including two Achievement awards for Console Adventure Game of the Year and Console Role Playing Game of the Year from the Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences. Electronic Gaming Monthly also awarded the game with the Readers’ Choice PlayStation Game of the Year and Readers’ Choice Role-Playing Game of the Year.
