September 2017 Free Games for PlayStation Plus and Xbox Live Gold

Sony and Microsoft have both announced the slate of September 2017 free games that will be available to subscribing PlayStation Plus and Xbox Live Gold members.

PlayStation Plus members will receive the action title inFamous: Second Son and the aerial-combat title Strike Vector Ex for PlayStation 4, the big rig racing title Truck Racer and the sports game Handball 2016 for PlayStation 3, and the twin-stick shooter We Are Doomed and the Pigeon Dating sim Hatoful Boyfriend on PS Vita and PlayStation 4. In addition, Sony has announced that from PS Plus members in the US and Canada will also get RIGS Mechanized Combat League as a free bonus game from September 5 through November 7. RIGS is a first-person arena-based shooter developed from the ground up for PS VR. Set in the year 2065, it immerses players in an intense, all-action future sport that mixes elements from different athletic fields like combat sports, motorsports, basketball and football.

Xbox Live Gold members will receive four new free games – two on Xbox One and two on Xbox 360 – as part of the Games with Gold program. On Xbox One, Xbox Live Gold members can download Forza Motorsport 5: Racing Game of the Year Edition for free during the month of September and the supernatural mystery game Oxenfree will be available as a free download from September 16th to October 15th. On Xbox 360, playable on Xbox One with Backward Compatibility, fans can download the aquatic racing game Hydro Thunder Hurricane from September 1 through September 15th.
