Terminator 2D: No Fate Trailer Reveals Release Date for New Game

Reef Entertainment and Bitmap Bureau unveiled its officially licensed 2D action side-scroller Terminator 2D: No Fate. Along with a brand-new trailer flaunting its retro-style gameplay, its release date and platforms were also revealed.

When is the Terminator 2D: No Fate release date?

Terminator 2D: No Fate launches on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store on September 5. Digital preorders will be available at a later date. Check out the trailer below to see some iconic Terminator 2: Judgment Day scenes recreated in classic arcade-style pixel artwork.

“Play as Sarah Connor and the T-800 through a variety of thrilling missions as they take on the T-1000 and try to put a stop to Skynet’s plans before the human race is annihilated,” reads the game’s description. “Lead the Resistance as John Connor in the future, fighting on the front lines as mankind’s only hope in the War Against the Machines. In this unique story blending iconic scenes from ‘Terminator 2: Judgment Day’ with original scenarios and multiple endings, humanity’s fate is yours to decide.”

Select retailers will have physical editions of Terminator 2D: No Fate. The Day One Edition includes a Reversible Cover Sleeve, “Unknown Future” Cloth Poster, 25mm Collectible Metal Arcade Token, Full Color Manual Book, and Collector’s Box. The Collector’s Edition includes everything from the Day One Edition as well as a Collector’s Tin, Steelbook, “Fiery Visions” Cloth Poster, Premium Metal Paperweight, Flipbook, and Art Book. Lastly, the Online Exclusive Edition includes a black version of the Collector’s Tin and a “Steel Mill Showdown” Cloth Poster and is only available on the Reef Direct Online Store.

Details are sparse, but it seems Reef Entertainment and Bitmap Bureau are working on ports for retro platforms. Specified platforms are not named, but the companies will announce this information at a later date.
