Game of Thrones: Kingsroad Trailer Showcases Gameplay

Netmarble has revealed a brand new trailer for its upcoming action-adventure RPG, Game of Thrones: Kingsroad. Based on the hit HBO show that adapts the George R.R. Martin novels, this new look gives fans a taste of its gameplay.

New Game of Thrones: Kingsroad trailer flaunts action gameplay

Showcased in the new trailer are the three classes: Knight, Sellsword, and Assassin. Wielding a longsword, Knights are the balanced class that boasts a “sophisticated fighting style”. The Sellsword class are brutal tanks who use two-handed axes to destroy their enemies. Lastly, the agile Assassin relies on dexterity and dagger skills in combat.

The trailer shows some of the puzzles players can expect in the game, some of which seem to utilize the environment. Speaking of environment, it also shows the game’s exploration and traversal, giving a good look at Game of Thrones: Kingsroad’s interpretation of Westeros.

“In Game of Thrones: Kingsroad, you will embark on a journey to restore your house’s legacy, forging alliances through trials and betrayals while navigating a realm rife with intrigue, danger, and opportunity,” reads the game’s official description. “The game’s original storyline expands on that of the legendary TV series, allowing you to forge your own path amidst the power struggles of noble houses and the looming threat of what lies beyond the Wall.”

Anyone interested in checking out Game of Thrones: Kingsroad has until January 12 to sign up for the Closed Beta Test. Available for PC and Android devices, the test begins on January 16 and ends on January 22. Eligible regions include the United States, Canada, and select parts of Europe.

While a specific date has yet to be announced, Game of Thrones: Kingsroad is scheduled to launch in 2025 for mobile devices via iOS and Android and on PC via Windows Launcher. It was revealed during last year’s The Game Awards.
