Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Tactical Takedown Revealed With New Trailer

Strange Scaffold has revealed Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Tactical Takedown, a turn-based beat ’em up by the developers of El Paso, Elsewhere and I Am Your Beast. It was announced during the PC Gaming Show alongside a new trailer.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Tactical Takedown kills two fan-favorite characters

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Tactical Takedown lets players fight as the four iconic turtles Leonard, Raphael, Michelangelo, and Donatello. Each character has their own mini-campaign that pits them against the Foot Clan, their new leader, and some other familiar villains. They also have their own unique move sets and super moves.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Tactical Takedown is intended to be played in quick sessions. Each encounter only takes minutes to finish. This all leads to a climactic finish where the brothers come together to defeat the big baddie. While it isn’t known who the main villain is, it may not be Shredder, as both the infamous Foot Clan leader and the turtles’ father figure Splinter are dead at the beginning of the game. Now, this is a TMNT story. Shredder can totally come back to life. However, with Karai on the game’s art, she may be the main villain. At the very least, she is involved with the larger plot.

“Building a truly powerful licensed game requires a deep respect for the source material, love for the fans, and a willingness to challenge tentpoles of the universe to create something that both surprises and delights,” said Xalavier Nelson Jr., founder of Strange Scaffold. “Bringing that kind of experience to life requires an equally powerful relationship – so I will be forever grateful to Doug Rosen and the team at Paramount for their collaboration, and putting their trust in our team to make an original take on the world that soars. I get to make a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game where the very first lines of dialogue establish that Shredder and Splinter are dead. Who else can say that?”

“Working with Xalavier Nelson Jr. and his team at Strange Scaffold has been an incredible experience,” said Doug Rosen, SVP, Games & Emerging Media, Paramount. “From our first conversation, it was clear Xalavier’s vision for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Tactical Takedown would exceed our expectations, and his approach to bringing fans into the creative process is perfect for a beloved, multi-generational brand like TMNT. We really look forward to being able to share this with gamers everywhere next year.”

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Tactical Takedown launches in 2025 for PC via Steam. A specific release date and other platforms have not yet been announced.
