Peter Stormare has returned to the world of Call of Duty as “The Replacer” in a new trailer for the upcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops 6.
Who is The Replacer in the new Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 video?
The latest trailer for the upcoming game sees the return of Stormare as a character he played over 10 years ago. “The Replacer” is a man who does just what his name implies, and replaces people in their day-to-day life so they can go and play Call of Duty. The trailer sees Stormare’s character doing different jobs like being a firefighter, a rideshare driver, the pope, and even a family man.

Stormare first appeared as the character in the marketing campaign for Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, way back in 2012. Ever since, he’s made appearances in a variety of other Black Ops marketing campaigns, including Black Ops 3 and 4. It’s unclear just how many more ads Stormare will appear in for the game, but it’s likely we haven’t seen the last of The Replacer just yet.
Despite the funny role, Stormare is a seriously accomplished actor, having played roles in a variety of high-profile films. Stormare starred in 1996’s Fargo, and was also a mainstay in the hit television series Prison Break. The actor has also appeared in films like The Lost World: Jurassic Park, Playing God, The Big Lebowski, Armageddon, 8mm, Minority Report, Bad Boys II, Constantine, and more. The actor has even appeared in voice acting roles for games like Destiny, Until Dawn, and Destiny 2.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is set to release on October 25, 2024, for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 6, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. The game will also be available on Xbox Game Pass for subscribers to the PC Game Pass & Ultimate tiers of the service on day one, as well.
