What is included in NBA 2K25 PS5 bundle?

What comes in the NBA 2K25 PS5 bundle isn’t too surprising. Available only in the US and Canada, it includes the PS5 Digital Edition and a digital copy of NBA 2K25. That means players will not be able to use discs on this particular console. The console also features its newer slim design. Here is the full list of goodies included in the bundle as listed by PlayStation Blog:

  • PlayStation 5 Digital Edition
  • DualSense wireless controller
  • 2 Horizontal stand feet
  • HDMI cable
  • AC power cord
  • USB cable
  • Printed materials
  • Astro’s Playroom (Pre-installed game. PS5 console may need to be updated to the latest system software version. Internet connection required.)
  • NBA 2K25 Standard Edition voucher

Due to the all-digital nature of the console, an internet connection and a PlayStation Network account are required to redeem the NBA 2K25 voucher. After redeeming, the game can be played at 5 a.m. PST on September 4, 2024.

What is Leagues in this year’s Play Now mode?

Alongside the NBA 2K25 PS5 bundle announcement, 2K also revealed the return of Leagues to NBA 2K25’s Play Now Online mode. Leagues is a five-level ranking system for the classic mode. Every player will begin at Bronze level with all 30 current NBA teams available to use at the jump. Players will unlock more playable teams as they move up each rank. Here are the unlocks associated with each ranking as detailed by 2K:

  • Bronze to Silver: Unlocks ‘60s, ‘70s, ‘80s, and ‘90s eras teams
  • Silver to Gold: Unlocks 2000s era teams
  • Gold to Platinum: Unlocks 2010s era teams
  • Platinum to GOAT: Unlocks a GOATED Team (new GOATED team each Season)

Players will advance rank by gaining Victory Points which are earned by winning games. However, NBA 2K25 mixes things up by only allowing players to play with the same team once every five games. Additionally, players will be awarded more Victory Points by using lesser ranked teams. Teams are broken up into three tiers, with Tier 1 teams including the top 10 overall teams, Tier 2 including teams ranked 11 to 20, and Tier 3 including teams ranked 21 to 30.

Players good enough to place in the GOAT League will receive a VC prize, an All-time Team, and Prestige. The top 100 players will be marked with an in-game logo, visible for every player to see.

NBA 2K25 launches for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on September 6, 2024. Players who preorder any edition of the game can play up to two days early on September 4. PS5 players get an extra preorder bonus which includes two MyTeam Promo Packs, a MyPlayer Gamerplate, and 5000 VC.
