EA Sports FC 25 releases this fall, and developers recently shared a new gameplay deep dive. The video and accompanying blog post focus on the soccer sim’s revamped Team Tactics and new FC IQ system.
What’s in the EA Sports FC 25 gameplay deep dive?
FC IQ is a central pillar of FC 25’s gameplay design, and a crucial part of it is how EA Sports revamped Team Tactics. “Success in FC is no longer just about putting in the best player at a position,” says Gameplay Producer Paul Parsons, “it is about putting in the right player for the system you want to run.” Players can be assigned a different Role with multiple Focuses, with each player having various levels of competence in each role. According to EA Sports, the studio based these on an AI analysis of each player’s real-life performance.
Meanwhile, real-time suggestions make the game’s tactics more intuitive and accessible. The upcoming EA Sports FC 25 also boasts activity maps, a summary of dynamic tactics, and previews of how the team looks with and without the ball. FC IQ additionally lets players emulate the tactics of real-world managers, such as Madrid’s Carlo Ancelotti. Other features include quickly changing tactics mid-match, saving tactics, and sharing them over social media.
EA Sports didn’t go into too much detail about all the game’s modes. However, the developers stressed how crucial tactics and the FC IQ system are to FC 25’s gameplay. While important in all modes, it significantly affects Career Mode, impacting transfers, scouting, and youth academy. Unfortunately, fans will have to wait until the Career Mode deep dive for more specifics on that part of the game.
