2K officially unveiled the NBA 2K25 cover athlete for not only the standard version of the game, but its various other editions as well.
Who is the NBA 2K25 cover athlete?
Gracing the NBA 2K25 cover for the standard edition of the basketball game will be Boston Celtics superstar Jayson Tatum. Tatum is coming off of a championship-winning season, and will now take to the cover of the iconic game for the first time in his career.
Alongside Tatum, 2K also announced that he and two-time WNBA MVP and two-time WNBA Champion A’ja Wilson will act as co-cover athletes for the NBA 2K25 All-Star Edition, with Wilson gracing the cover of the game’s WNBA Edition, which will be exclusive GameStop in physical form.
Similar to past years, 2K will also have a special Hall of Fame Edition of the game available. For this cover, the studio has turned to legendary player and 2024 Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame Inductee Vince Carter. The eight-time All-Star and NBA Dunk Contest icon can be seen in one of his iconic dunk poses on the cover.
NBA 2K25 is set to release on September 6, 2024, for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Nintendo Switch. The breakdown in pricing and differences between each edition of NBA 2K25 is as follows:
- The Standard Edition will be available for $69.99. The Nintendo Switch copy of the game will be $59.99.
- The WNBA Edition will be available for $69.99, and is available exclusively as a GameStop physical copy.
- The All-Star Edition will be available for $99.99, and will come with 100,000 VC and MyTEAM content, including 10 MyTEAM Player Cards (3 guaranteed to be 89 OVR), 3 Diamond Shoe Cards, 3 Takeover Boosts, and 1 Amethyst Coach Card; as well as MyCAREER content, including 150x Skill Boosts (25 Games), 75x Gatorade Boosts (25 Games), Jayson Tatum Cover Jersey, Jayson Tatum Electric Skateboard Skin, and a 2K25 Cover Stars Design T-Shirt.
- The Hall of Fame Edition will be a limited version of the game, available for $149.99. This version will include everything that the All-Star Edition does, as well as a MyCAREER Vince Carter Cover Jersey, a Season 1 Pro Pass with 4 upfront Pro Pass rewards and a 12-Month NBA League Pass Subscription.
