Avatar: The Last Airbender has had a massive cultural impact ever since the original show aired in 2005. Meanwhile, the live-action remake premiered on Netflix last month. Now, Avatar: The Last Airbender is officially on its way to Roblox for the first time this summer.
Avatar: The Last Airbender comes to Roblox in Summer
Paramount Game Studios announced that it’s partnered with developer Looty Games to bring the world of Avatar to Roblox. The new game will allow Roblox players to create their own Earth, Water, Air, or Fire bender and face opponents in battleground-style gameplay. Paramount hasn’t revealed a title or gameplay yet, though it promises to share more details over the next few months. Fans can also check out the teaser trailer for Roblox’s upcoming Avatar experience.
Paramount partnered with Looty Games because of its track record in developing battleground games on Roblox. The developer is a beneficiary of the platform’s Creator Fund program, which helps finance projects that “push the boundaries of what Roblox experiences can deliver.”
Paramount’s Senior Vice President of Games and Emerging Media, Doug Rosen, commented on the partnership in the company’s official statement. “Avatar: The Last Airbender has created a rich universe that generations of fans want to immerse themselves in, and Roblox allows users to have that experience,” said Rosen. “We’re thrilled to be able to work with Looty Games and Roblox to deepen fans’ connection to the franchise in this virtual world.”
The live-action remake of Avatar: The Last Airbender saw mixed reviews from critics and fans. Still, it proved successful enough for Netflix to announce seasons two and three.
