Kojima Productions revealed a nearly ten-minute Death Stranding 2: On the Beach trailer at the PlayStation State of Play showcase and revealed Mad Max: Fury Road director Goerge Miller has lent his likeness to a new character.

There’s also an appearance by Head On director Fatih Akin as a stop-motion-style wooden puppet. The trailer gave us a glimpse of Elle Fanning’s character, and confirmed the return of Troy Baker’s Higgs.
But who is the game is less interesting than what was in the trailer as we got a very literal electric guitar, an inky demon cat, and a woman with octopus tentacle-like circles on her arms who is cracked out of a goop sarcophagus. Oh, and a warrior robot that giggles like a baby.
The Death Stranding 2: On the Beach trailer is full of questions that need answering, but we do know that Mexico is the likely destination this time, Norman Reedus’ Sam will have more of a combat focus, and that at some point little baby Lou is presumed dead, but is still around in some capacity.
The game has a 2025 release window, and looks set to arrive before Xbox exclusive OD.
Kojima Productions also partners with PlayStation for an original IP, tentatively titled Physint, in the action espionage genre. Hideo Kojima claimed that the game will “transcend the barriers between film and video games” and will be made by “talent from around the world” using “cutting-edge technology.”
