Ghostbusters: Rise of the Ghost Lord’s Slimer Hunt update is now available for the PlayStation VR2 game, adding in a free new mission and iconic suits.
The latest update is out now for free and sees the inclusion of writer, actor, and comedian Dan Aykroyd in his original role as Ghostbuster Ray Stantz, where he’ll narrate a new mission that tasks players with tracking down the iconic ghost Slimer.

Alongside the free mission, the Slimer Hunt update will also add in new cosmetics, including the flight suits of the original Ghostbusters, allowing players to step into the legendary costumes. A new developer update from nDreams also dives into what it took to bring Slimer Hunt to the game.
What is Ghostbusters: Rise of the Ghost Lord about?
Developed by nDreams and published by Sony Pictures Virtual Reality, the game will allow players to step into the suits of a new group of Ghostbusters. The new crew are starting their own business in San Francisco.
In a PlayStation Blog post on the game, director Nathan Baseley also dives into how the PS VR2 comes into play in the game. According to Baseley, the PS VR2’s power allows for enhanced lighting and ghostly effects. The game also supports eye tracking as well as headset haptics that will allow ghosts to taunt players and adaptive trigger support. A roundtable interview with the developers was also released, where the team dives into more aspects of the update.
