Frontier Developments announced on Tuesday that Planet Zoo’s console release date has been set to arrive later this year.
Planet Zoo: Console Edition will arrive on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on March 26, 2024, and will retail for $49.99. Players looking to secure a copy of the game early can do so now by preordering the game.
Those who prerder will receive three exclusive animals to use in the game as well, including the Pygmy Hippopotamus, Komodo Dragon, and Thomson’s Gazelle.

What is Planet Zoo about?
“Featuring an incredible array of animals who think, feel, and explore the habitats you create around them, Planet Zoo allows players to nurture and learn about an array of species as they construct, customize, and manage the world’s wildest zoos using intuitive console controls,” reads the game’s description.
Planet Zoo originally released in 2019 for PC and acts as a spiritual successor to Zoo Tycoon and Zoo Tycoon 2. The game was a hit when it launched and was praised for its realistic animal behavior and emphasis on wildlife conservation.
