Final Fantasy 14 Xbox Beta

Final Fantasy 14 Xbox Beta Will Include Content Up to Stormblood

When the Final Fantasy 14 Xbox beta launches next month, players will be able to get their hands on the entirety of A Realm Reborn — as well as Heavensward and Stormblood.

There will be no restrictions on playtime, and progress will carry over to the full game when it is released.

The Final Fantasy 14 Xbox beta launch date

In the most recent Final Fantasy XIV 2024 Fan Festival held just a few days ago in Japan, Square Enix revealed they are aiming to start the beta on February 21, 2024, although the date could change by a few days.

Some confusion arose earlier, though, as a quickly deleted Xbox Wire post declared the beta to be launching today, January 16. When the Xbox version of the game was first announced back in October, the beta was due to launch this month alongside one of the Patch 6.5x updates for Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker. Patch 6.55 launched today on PS5, PS4, and PC, and it seems like the beta was supposed to arrive on Xbox alongside it. Spoiler alert: the beta is still unavailable.

Even if the beta doesn’t launch until February, it still gives players plenty of time to reach level 70 before the game is fully released in spring. All of the content from A Realm Reborn, Heavensward, and Stormblood will be available and progress will carry over to the full game.

While the game was originally made for players teaming up with friends to take on its challenges, the most recent updates mean that all of the main story dungeons through to the Endwalker expansion can be completed by solo adventurers with a party of NPC allies.

Those who miss the beta, but still want to try before they buy, will still be able to make use of the Expanded Free Trial that will be available once the game launches. The free trial will include all of the same content that can be found in the beta.
