Delisted TMNT Game Briefly Reappears on Steam

After being delisted in 2017, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows very briefly appeared back on Steam’s store page.

What happened to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows?

Earlier Wednesday, it was discovered that the hack and slash game reappeared on Steam’s store as available to purchase for $14.99. Just under an hour later, however, the game had been delisted once again. It’s no longer purchasable, as the game’s Steam page no longer has that option.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows was initially released in 2013 by developer Red Fly Studio and Activision. The game featured a four-player online mode and offline two-player co-op, and saw players control the iconic group of turtles as they try to stop various villains from the show, which included the Foot Clan, the Purple Dragons, Baxter Stockman, and Kraang.

On January 4, 2017, the game was officially delisted from platforms after Activision’s hold on the TMNT license expired. Activision’s originally held the TMNT license beginning in 2012 and released five games based on the franchise between 2013 and 2016.

If Activision plans to get back into the Turtles game, there’s never been a better time — the Seth Rogen-penned reboot, Mutant Mayhem, hits theaters this August. There’s also a darker TMNT game inspired by the recent God of War games in developmnet.
